ABOUT THE ARTIST
Laura Dujoncquoy is an artist and designer. Self-taught, she has developed an instinctive practice that combines painting, ceramics, and object creation.
From an early age, she felt the need to fully express her creativity and explore the possibilities offered by materials, shapes, and colors. This deep curiosity continues to drive her artistic approach.
Since moving to Paris in 2015, she has drawn inspiration from the city's artistic atmosphere, its architecture, and its museums, where she spends many hours.
From early 20th-century abstract artists such as Kupka and Magnelli to her travels in the Mediterranean area, Laura cultivates an attentive and sensitive view of the world around her. Her influences and emotions are translated into unique creations, marked by spontaneity and a constant quest for harmony.
From painting to ceramics, textile, leather, and metal, her curiosity for art and aesthetic research drives her to explore different practices.
She is guided by experimentation.
Finding an existing material and feeling that it can become something else. Confronting its resistance, learning a technique, and embracing what it demands. Letting the material guide her movements.
Working with pigment until the right shade emerges.
A vivid, sunny palette that reflects her emotions.
Laura approaches her work like a musical sequence.
A succession of rhythms and silences.
Curves flow into one another, abstract shapes are precise, like an improvised choreography.
Movement guides color. Forms intertwine and textures catch the light.
Her works, whether unique or in small series, bear witness to this ongoing exploration. Creations that are both functional and durable, driven by a quest for balance, escape, and vitality.
